MessBook or Mess Manager: which should a mess use?

Short answer: they do different jobs. MessBook is for finding a mess seat or room and for posting a vacancy, and both are free; in October 2026 its mess management feature was still marked as coming soon. Mess Manager (m27lab) keeps a mess's meals, bazar and meal rate on Android, free with adverts and with a paid plan. If you want one free app that keeps the accounts and also lists vacant seats in Dhaka, Mess Ledger does both.
What MessBook does
MessBook (messbook.com.bd) is a platform for bachelors looking for a mess, a seat or a room. You search by location, budget and room type, and owners post vacant seats and rooms. Searching and posting are both free. It covers all 64 districts of Bangladesh, with a focus on areas near universities in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rajshahi, and it runs on the web and as a mobile app.
Its own site lists a mess manager, for keeping track of members, rent, meals and expenses, as coming soon (checked on 7 October 2026). Until that ships, MessBook helps you find a mess but does not keep its accounts.
What Mess Manager does
Mess Manager by m27lab is the most downloaded of the mess accounts apps compared on this site (100K+ installs on Google Play, 3.9★ from about 990 reviews, October 2026). It counts meals, records bazar and works out the meal rate and each member's balance. It runs on Android only.
The free plan shows adverts and there is a paid plan. In August 2026, editing on the free plan cost points earned by watching adverts, and months older than five were deleted.

Which to choose
If you are looking for somewhere to live, use a finder: MessBook, the free mess finder on Mess Ledger for Dhaka, or a classifieds site. If you already live in a mess and need its accounts kept, use a mess app: Mess Manager if your mess wants an Android app from the Play Store and does not mind adverts, or Mess Ledger if you want it free, without adverts or a member limit, on any phone's browser.
Nothing stops a mess using both kinds: find the seat on one, keep the khata on the other.
