The best mess management apps in Bangladesh, compared
Last updated
Short answer: for most messes the best choice is Mess Ledger, which is free (৳0) with no ads and no member limit, in Bangla, in any phone's browser. If you would rather pay, MessMeal charges one flat ৳500 a year for the whole mess, and Mess Monitor ৳19 to ৳199 a month for 20 to 100 members. On Google Play, Mess Manager (m27lab) has the most reviews (about 990, averaging 3.9★) and Mess Monitor the highest average of the apps compared here (4.3★ from 57 reviews); Mess Ledger is not on the Play Store, so it has no store rating. There are now more than half a dozen apps for running a bachelor mess, hostel dining or shared flat in Bangladesh. They all count meals and work out the meal rate. Where they differ is what they cost, how many members they allow, and how much you have to trust the number they give you. Here is the field as it stood in October 2026, with prices taken from each app's own site or store listing.
The short answer
If you want the whole job done for nothing, in Bangla, with no cap on members and no adverts, use Mess Ledger. It runs in the browser on any phone, so nobody has to install anything, and every member can see the arithmetic behind their own balance.
If your mess insists on an Android app from the Play Store and does not mind adverts, Mess Manager (m27lab) is the most downloaded. If you would rather pay a small yearly fee for a simple web app, MessMeal charges ৳500 a year for the whole mess. If you only need to split a few shared bills between friends and nobody counts meals, Splitwise is enough.

What actually matters when you choose
The meal rate. Every app here divides the month's bazar by the month's meals. That is not where they differ. What matters is whether members can see the entries behind the number, because the argument at month end is never about the division, it is about whether the inputs are right.
Whether a finished month stays finished. If a settled month can still be edited, it will be argued about again. Mess Ledger closes a month so nobody, the manager included, can change an entry dated inside it.
What is rationed. Several popular apps are free to start and then limit edits, members, history or exports. A mess of twelve outgrows an eight-member or ten-member free plan in its first month. Read the limits before the whole mess has put a month into it.
Rent and bills. Rent is not split by meals. Look for an app that splits fixed costs per head or by room share, so a single room can carry more of the rent than a bed in a double.
Language. Most mess members read Bangla faster than English. An app every member can read is an app every member checks.
Mess Ledger
Mess Ledger (মেস খাতা in Bangla) is a free mess manager built for Bangladeshi messes and student hostels. Members record daily meals or set a standing meal plan; whoever does the bazar records it, itemised and with receipt photos if the mess wants; rent, electricity, gas, wifi and the cook's salary are split equally, by room share or by a fixed amount.
It also has a meal-off cutoff time, a bazar duty rota, a shared bazar list, a weekly menu, deposits with bKash, Nagad and Rocket payments that count once the manager approves the TrxID, an activity log every member can read, and a month-end settlement that prints its own arithmetic as a PDF for the WhatsApp group. There is no limit on members and no advertising.
When another app is the better pick
If nobody in the group cooks together and you are only splitting rent and a few bills, a general bill splitter such as Splitwise, Tricount or Settle Up does that job. If your mess will only use something installed from the Play Store, choose among the Android apps above and check which limits apply to your headcount. If you run a commercial hostel with hundreds of seats, invoices and staff payroll, you want hostel management software rather than a mess app.
