Mess Ledger is free. A mess of any size pays ৳0, there is no paid plan to upgrade to, and nothing in the app is held back for one. You do not enter a card, a phone number or any payment details to use it.

What you get for free
Everything the app does: daily meal counts and standing meal plans, a meal-off cutoff time, guest meals, itemised bazar entries with up to three receipt photos each, the bazar duty rota, a shared bazar list, a weekly menu, deposits, bKash, Nagad and Rocket payments that count once a manager approves the TrxID, rent and bills split equally, by room share or by a fixed amount, an activity log every member can read, closing a month, and the month-end settlement with its arithmetic shown.
The free meal rate calculator and the mess finder, where anyone can browse vacant mess seats and rooms in Dhaka, need no account at all.
The limits that do exist
One account can hold up to ten listings on the mess finder, open or closed, so the finder stays a list of real rooms rather than a wall of reposts.
A bazar entry carries up to three receipt photos, each shrunk in your browser before it is sent. Neither limit costs money to lift; there is no paid way around them.

Prices other mess apps published in October 2026: MessMeal charges ৳500 a year for the whole mess after a one-month trial. Mess Monitor is free up to 10 members and ৳19 to ৳199 a month for 20 to 100 members. MessBuddy is free up to 2 rooms and 8 members with adverts, and Premium is ৳14.49 per member a month. Mess Manager (m27lab) is free with adverts and has a paid plan. Splitwise is free with a daily limit on new expenses, and Pro is paid.

Why it is free, and whether it will stay free
Mess Ledger was built from the start to cost almost nothing to run: one small server process that only runs when someone uses it, a database and static pages served from a CDN. A mess app's running cost is what a paid plan normally pays for, and here it is close to zero.
There is no paid tier at the time of writing. If that ever changes, existing messes will be told before anything about their account changes.
