Short description

Mess Ledger (মেস খাতা) is a free mess manager app for Bangladesh. It keeps a mess's daily meals, bazar, rent, bills and deposits, works out the meal rate, and shows every member what they owe at month end, with the arithmetic beside every figure.

Longer description

Mess Ledger replaces the paper khata that bachelor messes, student hostels and shared flats in Bangladesh use to keep their accounts. Members record their meals or set a standing meal plan; whoever does the bazar records it, itemised and with receipt photos; rent, electricity, gas, wifi and the cook's salary are split equally, by room share or by a fixed amount. At month end it works out the meal rate (total bazar divided by total meals) and each member's balance, and the month can be closed so nobody can change it afterwards. It runs in Bangla and English in any phone's browser, needs no install, and is free with no adverts and no limit on members. It also runs a free board of vacant mess seats and rooms in Dhaka.
